Every hackathon on this platform follows the same path. Register once, apply to any open hackathon, form or join a team from your dashboard, and lock in the problem statement you'll build against. Here's exactly how each step works.
Registration and login unlock your account. Applying and the dashboard unlock the hackathon itself. Team formation splits into two paths that both lead to the same place: picking a problem statement.
Steps 5a and 5b are alternatives — a candidate takes one path, not both — and both lead into Step 6.
A closer look at what you'll actually see and do on screen for each part of the process.
Create your CodeWord account with your name, email and a password. This is a one-time step — once you're registered, the same account is used to log in and apply to every hackathon on the platform.
Sign in with your registered email and password. You'll need to log in each time you come back to apply for a hackathon, check your dashboard, or manage your team.
A registered candidate can apply for any available hackathon listed on the portal. Browse the open hackathons, choose the one you want to take part in, and submit your application. After you've joined a hackathon this way, its dashboard becomes available to you.
Log back in and open your dashboard for the hackathon you applied to. This is where you'll create or join a team, and later select your problem statement — it's the control centre for everything that happens next.
From your dashboard, you choose one of two paths to get onto a team:
Start a new team and you automatically become its admin. As admin, you can send a join offer to any registered candidate. They receive an email with a link that lets them accept and join your team.
Prefer to join an existing team instead? Browse the teams that are still open and send a joining request to the one you want. Once the team's admin accepts it, you're in.
Once your team is finalised, choose a problem statement from the list available for the hackathon. This is what your team will build against for the rest of the event — after this, you're set to start working.
